Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN and is the SportsCenter News Anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. Since she was nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages allowed her to get a job in Miami as a production assistant at Univision. As an assistant producer she was able to be a part of national show producers like Nuestra Belleza Latina. Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then she was promoted to reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. Then, in 2009 the reporter relocated from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley Texas where she was employed by KNVO TV 48 Univision as in addition to Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about immigration and drug-trafficking on both sides of the border, she worked as a reporter for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor, reporter and later anchor for anchoring the 9 p.m. news in English and also an anchor for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. Also, she was a substitute for anchors of sports and weather forecasters. Deportes 23 was Univision Dallas affiliate, where she was able to take on other responsibility. Apart from that, she also hosted and produced Univision 23's Accion Deportiva Extra local sports show. She has been promoted to anchor the sports segment for Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. She is older than her sister. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Soon after they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a time of summer when she was with her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. Antonietta is a senior in high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the school. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it provided the degree she was looking for. After graduation, she went to the University as a major in media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a student in the class, established a lasting relationship with the student. He inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply affected her. She determined to fulfill the expectations of him and not failed him.
