Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins, the Mexican American sportscaster. Her employer is ESPN and is the SportsCenter News Anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in the year 2016. The daughter of TV reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta is a native speaker of two languages. Since she was nine, Collins's ability to communicate in two languages allowed her to get a job in Miami as a production assistant at Univision. Then she was promoted to reporter for The CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. Antonietta Collin's parents were originally from Veracruz Mexico. They eventually settled in Mexico City and she was born there on November 22 in 1985. She is older than her sister. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. Soon after they separated, and, in 1995 Fabio Fajardo remarried. He died of kidney cancer in 2006. It was on a time of summer when she was with her sister in Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had gotten a job. Antonietta is a senior in high school but she was clear about the career she wanted. While deciding if Mount Union is the right choice for her, Antonietta decided to go visit the school. The result was that she enjoyed the university as well as the fact that it provided the degree she was looking for. After graduation, she went to the University as a major in media studies. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a student in the class, established a lasting relationship with the student. He inspired her to be self-confident and also his love for journalism deeply affected her. She determined to fulfill the expectations of him and not failed him.
